INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATORS
Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center
Since 2010, NCRHP has served as one of just three PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centers in North America focusing on medical education and primary health care.
Core Areas:
NCRHP collaborates with PAHO/WHO on work related to the following core areas:
- Conceptualize, implement and evaluate educational reforms to prepare future health care practitioners, particularly in the area of primary health care
- Reorient medical education toward social accountability principles and interprofessional training
- Develop programs for health professionals education, with special focus on underserved communities, rural populations and areas with lack of access to healthcare
Leadership and Training:
NCRHP provides training and consultation on primary health care initiatives to faculty and health care providers from around the Americas, including South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Student Experiences:
Partnerships with universities and programs around the world allow for an exchange of student experiences and collaboration and include Maastricht University, Netherlands; Princess Naradhiwas University, Thailand; The Network: Towards Unity for Health (TUFH), a global network of individuals, institutions and organizations committed to improving the health of their communities; University of Aberdeen, Scotland; and University of Skvöde, Sweden.
